Volunteers Needed


Jasper Band Board – 2010-11

The Jasper Band Nominating Committee is looking for volunteers to serve on next year’s Band Booster Board.  Please look at the list of opportunities attached and see where you can help.  For questions about the Jasper Band Nominating Committee, please contact Amy Weiner at amy@phillysouth.com


Friday, April 16

All of our students will be participating in the Big “D” Classic Music Festival at the Majestic Theatre in Dallas. Chaperones are needed in the morning to accompany the students to the festival. If you can volunteer, please contact Mike Barishman at mikesb59@tx.rr.com

Saturday, April 17

Six Flags Over Texas! Chaperones are needed to spend the day with the band students at Six Flags. This is a fun day! For more information or to volunteer, please contact Mike Barishman at mikesb59@tx.rr.com

Band Banquet – Decorations, May 22

            All Region Results

Our Jasper Band students performed exceptionally well at the 9th Grade, 5A Phase I, and Phase II All Region Auditions.

Jasper placed 49 students in the 4 All Region Bands with another 24 students being named as alternates. Two students, Andrew Lee, clarinet, and Miles Fisher, tuba, earned first chair in the region on their instrument! In addition, we had 6 students advance to the Area round where they will audition for a spot in the Texas All State Band.

Over 1,700 students auditioned for All Region Band and Jasper had more students earn a position in one of the bands than any other school in our region!

Congratulations to our Area qualifiers - Ben Fu - oboe, Kayla Bu - oboe, Andrew Lee - clarinet, Eric Kim - clarinet, Christopher Pawlowski - bassoon, and Miles Fisher - tuba.
